Rebuttals

These are the rebuttals for our 7 reasons

  • to know the importance of gathering and learning sufficient knowledge on issues to be discussed.

Rebuttals: We don't need to gather sufficient knowledge because our daily experience can help us in the discussion of the subject matter. By using our common sense, any topic can be discussed at anytime.

  • to present the views and opinions on the issues that are being discussed and to discuss it thoroughly.

Rebuttals: Presentation of views and opinions on the issues is irrelevant, because all we have to do is to say what is in our mind. We don't care if our opponents listen to what we say.

  • to listen, question and argue the stand presented by the opposite party.

Rebuttals: We don't have to listen to what our opponents say. The important thing is what we want to tell, what we know about the subject matter.

  • to know how to follow rules on discussion, observing the alerted time given to both parties to discuss.

Rebuttals: Rules during discussion will only hamper the delivery of the speech of the debater because they are aware of the rules. The debater will get distracted especially the time given to them. There should be no rules to have a good debate.

  • to fight hard to defend the issues we believe in.

Rebuttals: We don't need to fight hard to defend the issues. We just have to speak out what we know about the motion. We just have to discuss our piece, point by point. Win or lose is not big deal, the important thing is we gain experience.

  • to convince the audience to accept our conviction.

Rebuttals: Why should we convince the audience? the important thing to do is to speak for ourselves. We must speak everything we know, whether they accept it or not. It's up to them.

  • to develop self-confidence and to be able to make the right decision.

Rebuttals: Self-confidence is not develop, it is within us to always do our best. We should have the desire to excel, always aim higher. Debaters sometimes get traumatized because they can't conquer their fears. It is up to the judges to make the decision so why make the right decision? if the government was not able to persuade the judges then making right decision is useless. It depends on the debaters how they perform.
